Description

In an age of social media soundbites and self-diagnosis, understanding how adult ADHD is accurately identified has never been more important. This session, led by psychiatrist and ADHD expert Dr. David W. Goodman, will clarify what truly goes into a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation—and why distinguishing ADHD from other conditions like anxiety, depression, or trauma is often more complicated than it appears. Participants will learn how coexisting disorders can mask or mimic ADHD symptoms, why diagnostic precision matters, and how treatment plans should be shaped by accurate clinical prioritization. This is a must-attend session for adults navigating diagnosis, clinicians working with complex cases, and anyone seeking clarity in the often-misunderstood landscape of adult ADHD.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand the scope and structure of a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation for adult ADHD
  • Learn how to differentiate ADHD from coexisting psychiatric conditions in clinical practice
  • Explore how accurate diagnosis guides treatment sequencing and individualization
