Despite growing awareness, myths about ADHD still dominate the public conversation—especially when it comes to adults. In this evidence-based session, Dr. Stephen Faraone, one of the world’s leading ADHD researchers, will explore what decades of science actually tell us about ADHD across the lifespan. From genetics and brain imaging to treatment outcomes, he’ll walk us through key research findings that validate ADHD as a lifelong neurodevelopmental condition—and debunk common misconceptions along the way. Participants will leave with a clearer, fact-based understanding of ADHD and why biology matters when it comes to both diagnosis and care.
Learning Objectives:
- Understand how genetic studies have demonstrated ADHD to be a highly heritable neurodevelopmental condition
- Recognize the structural and functional brain differences identified in people with ADHD through neuroimaging research
- Learn how stimulant and non-stimulant medications impact brain circuits and reduce ADHD symptoms and associated impairments across the lifespan
